Hi,

I'm a newbie to MPLS, need to understand why one should use MPLS.

Read somewhere that one of the adavantages of using MPLS is BGP free core. Why would one run BGP in the core even when not using MPLS? I suppose it is enough to run BGP only on area border routers, whether you are using MPLS or not, please let me know.

So what are the real advantages of using MPLS?
