Hi Bhavesh Modi,

Whether we are distributing same Labels or different Labels to its upstream
LSRs,
if the LSR is merge capable and if the outgoing interface is same for the
upstream Labels(same or different) then as per RFC 3031, Section 3.26 - we
do merging (If there is any Hardware limitation exists then we got to
consider that too while doing merging).

Thanks for answers/suggestions for my previous question.

One more question - pls bear with me.

We need merging when an LSR distributes differenet labels to its
upstream LSRs. But if an LSR distributes a same label to all upstream
nodes, then we don't need merging. So why  we need to give different
labels to different upstream LSRs? Even in case of ATM we can
distinguish the packets with same label by their different interfaces.

Pls help me clerifying this point.
