This is not a standard issue, and depends on the application. If LSP is used for TE, the life time should not be short, because otherwise you will experience oscillations.

In theory you could have many levels of hierarchy and therefore the answer is infinite. However if you consider only 2 levels of hierarchy then in theory you can have as many as 2^20 =1048576 LSPs inside an LSP tunnel.
